Another El Sibil Video
El Sibil is awesome, and if you haven’t been to one of the events there, I hate you.

I’m currently in the middle of shooting a documentary about the making of the new Analog Rebellion full length, which will be called Full Frontal. The title of the documentary is How to be Lo-Fi with Friends. There will also be a b-sides album called Good For You (Full Frontal B-Sides). The documentary covers the recording of the entire new full length, and beyond. Cameras were there when we decided on the album art and album title, there’s behind-the-scenes footage [...]
It’s been a while since I just threw up a demo for no reason. I’m drowning in demos right now, so here’s one that’s a bit different than the other stuff I’ve been releasing lately. The track is called “Holy Atmosphere (All Your Resources),” and the general idea is analyzing the link between the “Christian Right” and climate change denial. The irony there, of course, is that there is more evidence for climate change than any single word in the [...]
I’ll be playing with The Orbans (one of my favorite local bands) on October 8th at the Kessler Theater. More info here.
Here it is: the first single from the upcoming Analog Rebellion full length and its video. The track is called “Father Abraham.” You can download the track for free here (Mirror 1, Mirror 2, Mirror 3). Do whatever you like with this file. Spread it around. The video is hosted on Vimeo and in 2 places on YouTube (here and here).
If you still haven’t been out to one of the El Sibil monthly shows, then the party gods are looking down on you with disappointed frowns. The next gathering is on Saturday, September 17th. I’ll be performing along with Ishi, Hormones, and DJ Blake Ward. Click here for more info.
I have two upcoming shows: Friday, September 16th in Fort Worth at Tomcats West (more info), and Saturday, September 17th in Dallas at El Sibil (more info). I’ll be performing some new songs from the upcoming release(s) at both shows.
The next Analog Rebellion show will be at the next El Sibil Summer Concert (#3). To give you an idea of how much fun these little get-togethers are, here is a video from the last El Sibil Summer Concert (#2). Click here for more info about the next show.
We’ve started doing monthly parties/shows at El Sibil in Dallas. After the first party, our gear was still set up the next day, so we recorded a few live tracks. Here is the first. We’ll be doing a lot more of these, and since this was the first one (and essentially a test run), the sound and video quality will be better in future installments.
This song is called “This is My Fault (Do it to Me).” It’s one of the older songs going on the next full length, and it actually sat untouched for a bit until I showed it to a few people who ended up being really enthusiastic about it. I planned on putting vocals in the “chorus,” but that never happened, and I’ve sort of grown to like it the way it is: sparse. The lyrics (and music, for that matter) [...]
Here is an interview I did for Dallas Observer’s DC9 Live series, including snippets of a few songs (the new track is called White Trash Town). You can read the full article here.
